Terms of Service

By accessing and using TranslateTool ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

TranslateTool is an AI-powered translation service that uses third-party language models (including Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's GPT, and Google's Gemini) to provide translation services with sentence-level editing capabilities.

Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service
• One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account

Account Termination

• You may delete your account at any time through account settings
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• Accounts inactive for more than 12 months may be deleted

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

• Violate any local, state, national, or international law
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful software
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without explicit permission
• Generate spam, phishing content, or other malicious material

IMPORTANT: Translations are generated by AI and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content.

• AI-generated translations should be reviewed by qualified human translators before use in professional, legal, or medical contexts
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any translation
• You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating translations before use
• Different AI models may produce different translations for the same input
• The Service is not suitable for translating confidential, sensitive, or personally identifiable information

Your Content

• You retain all rights to the original text you submit for translation
• By submitting content, you grant us a license to process it using third-party AI services
• You represent that you have the right to submit and translate the content

Translations

• Translations generated by AI are provided "as is" for your use
• We do not claim ownership of translations
• You are responsible for ensuring translations do not infringe on third-party rights

The Service uses third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, OpenRouter) to generate translations. When you use the Service:

• Your translation requests are sent to these providers
• These providers process your content according to their own terms and privacy policies
• We are not responsible for the actions or policies of these third-party providers
• Service availability may be affected by third-party provider outages or API changes

• Basic access to the Service may be provided free of charge
• We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers or usage limits at any time
• You will be notified of any pricing changes with at least 30 days notice

Reasonable Refund Policy

We believe in fair treatment. If you are not satisfied with the Service, you may request a refund within 14 days of your purchase. Refunds are generally granted if:

• The Service did not work as described
• You experienced significant technical issues that we could not resolve
• You accidentally purchased the wrong plan

We reserve the right to deny refunds in cases of suspected abuse or if you have used a significant portion of your credits.

Refund Calculation

Refunds are not automatic and are issued at our sole discretion. If a refund is granted, the refund amount will be calculated as:

• The total purchase price, MINUS
• The value of any AI credits/tokens already consumed (calculated at our standard rate), AND
• Non-refundable payment processing fees (typically ~2.9% + $0.30).

Example: If you pay $20, use $5 worth of AI credits, and request a refund, the maximum refund would be approximately $14.10 ($20 - $5 usage - $0.90 fees).

• We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime
• The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time
• Critical security updates may be applied without advance notice

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the Service
• We are not liable for translation errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content
• We are not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or third-party actions
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TranslateTool and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you submit for translation

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.

• The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by TranslateTool
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the Service
• All trademarks, logos, and brand names are property of their respective owners

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which TranslateTool operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be resolved through:

1. Good faith negotiation between the parties
2. Binding arbitration if negotiation fails

You waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via:

• Email notification to registered users
• Prominent notice on the Service
• Updated "Last updated" date on this page

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
