Terms of Service

By accessing and using Transept (“the Service”), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Transept is an AI-powered translation service that uses third-party language models (including Anthropic’s Claude, OpenAI’s GPT, and Google’s Gemini) to provide translation services with sentence-level editing capabilities.

The Service also integrates with third-party platforms including Google Drive and Notion to allow you to import documents for translation and export translated content back to these platforms.

Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service.
• One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account.

Account Termination

• You may delete your account at any time through account settings.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
• Accounts inactive for more than 12 months may be deleted.

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

• Violate any local, state, national, or international law.
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others.
• Transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful software.
• Harass, abuse, or harm others.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems.
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without explicit permission.
• Generate spam, phishing content, or other malicious material.

Important: translations are generated by AI and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content.

• AI-generated translations should be reviewed by qualified human translators before use in professional, legal, or medical contexts.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any translation.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating translations before use.
• Different AI models may produce different translations for the same input.
• The Service is not suitable for translating confidential, sensitive, or personally identifiable information.

Your Content

• You retain all rights to the original text you submit for translation.
• By submitting content, you grant us a license to process it using third-party AI services.
• You represent that you have the right to submit and translate the content.

Translations

• Translations generated by AI are provided “as is” for your use.
• We do not claim ownership of translations.
• You are responsible for ensuring translations do not infringe on third-party rights.

The Service uses third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, OpenRouter) to generate translations. When you use the Service:

• Your translation requests are sent to these providers.
• These providers process your content according to their own terms and privacy policies.
• We are not responsible for the actions or policies of these third-party providers.
• Service availability may be affected by third-party provider outages or API changes.

The Service integrates with third-party platforms to enhance your workflow. By connecting these services, you agree to:

Google Drive

• Grant Transept permission to access documents you select for import.
• Grant Transept permission to create documents in your Drive for exports.
• Comply with Google’s Terms of Service when using this integration.

Notion

• Grant Transept permission to read pages you select for import.
• Grant Transept permission to create pages in your workspace for exports.
• Grant Transept permission to create comments on exported pages (if enabled).
• Comply with Notion’s Terms of Service when using this integration.

Important: when you import content from these platforms:

• You represent that you have the right to access and translate the content.
• The content will be processed by our AI providers as described above.
• You are responsible for ensuring the content does not violate any third-party rights.

You may disconnect these integrations at any time through Settings. Disconnecting will revoke our access but will not delete content already imported or exported.

Free tier

• The Free plan includes 3,000 word credits per month at no charge.
• Free plan credits reset monthly and do not roll over.

Paid subscription

• The Starter plan is billed monthly at the price displayed at checkout.
• Your subscription includes a monthly word credit allowance that resets each billing cycle.
• You may purchase additional credit packs at any time — these credits never expire and roll over indefinitely.
• Premium mode translations consume 3 word credits per word.
• You will be notified of any pricing changes with at least 30 days notice.

Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings.
• Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
• Unused monthly credits are forfeited upon cancellation; purchased credit packs remain available.

7-day money-back guarantee

If you are not satisfied with the Service, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your first subscription payment — no questions asked. To request a refund, email us at [email protected].

• The 7-day guarantee applies to your first subscription payment only.
• Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
• Purchased credit packs are non-refundable after use.
• We reserve the right to deny refunds in cases of suspected abuse.

• We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime.
• The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time.
• Critical security updates may be applied without advance notice.

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the Service.
• We are not liable for translation errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content.
• We are not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or third-party actions.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Transept and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of any third-party rights.
• Content you submit for translation.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.

• The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Transept.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer the Service.
• All trademarks, logos, and brand names are property of their respective owners.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Transept operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be resolved through:

1. Good faith negotiation between the parties.
2. Binding arbitration if negotiation fails.

You waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via:

• Email notification to registered users.
• Prominent notice on the Service.
• Updated “Last updated” date on this page.

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
